BIG MENTORS
More than 75% of waiting Littles are young boys and most of them are minorities.
ONLY 30% OF OUR VOLUNTEER APPLICANTS ARE MALE
While we encourage all volunteer applicants, our need for male mentors, especially men of color, is greater than ever. Our waiting Littles range in age from six to sixteen and their needs vary. Some children are from single-parent households that lack a male role model. Others have experienced bullying and exclusion at school and need the extra support that a Big Brother can provide.
MORE THAN 70%
of our waiting Littles are African-American, Hispanic or from other minority backgrounds
