ADULT MENTOR RECRUITER

(Big Ambassador)

We are seeking a full-time recruiter to join our team in the Oklahoma City metro area. The successful candidate will have experience in recruitment, sales, or related field; be detail oriented, personable, and goal driven; leverage skills in public speaking, knowledge of volunteer recruitment/youth development, and partnership development; and be willing to work diligently over the course of evenings/weekends to advance the volunteer engagement goals of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oklahoma. This position will report to the CEO.

RESPONSIBILITES

1. Represent all mentoring programs on behalf of BBBSOK as a spokesperson and ambassador in the community

  • Develop and maintain a monthly recruitment and community engagement calendar and dashboard.  

  • Frame our mentoring programs accurately and enthusiastically to prospective volunteers by delivering in-person and web-based information sessions; speak eloquently about all aspects of the agency.

  • Recruit adult volunteers (18+ years) at select community events, volunteer fairs, networking events, civic and corporate presentations, etc.

  • Provide excellent customer service to potential volunteers from initial inquiry to program commitment.

  • Steward agency relationships by documenting contacts and provide timely/accurate reports showing progress towards annual recruitment plan goals.

  • Speak eloquently about all aspects of the agency.

2. Implement targeted recruitment strategies

  • Actively recruit volunteer “Bigs” in accordance to the current recruitment plan, including focus/specialization in areas identified as higher needs.

  • Identify new community stakeholders to participate in the expansion of the BBBS mission, and tailor a volunteer recruitment activity to fit their organization.

  • Build a mentor pipeline that represents the gender, racial/ethnic, sexual orientation and cultural diversity of our Little community.

3. Contribute to the overall success of the agency in order to achieve the BBBSOK mission

  • Promote teamwork by participating in various teams, including: work groups, project teams and interdepartmental meetings.

  • Positively represent BBBS in the community.

  • Assist other agency functions and/or departments as needed.

4. Enroll adult volunteers (18+ years) according to BBSOK policies and procedures

  • Conduct volunteer interviews and program orientation.

  • Follow-up on information as needed to complete enrollment.

  • Ensure smooth transition of volunteer recruitment to program specialists.

 MORE JOB TASKS

  • Maintain program data in MatchForce, outreach data in SalesForce and other systems, keeping impeccable records.

  • Assist with the development and promotion of match activities to support ongoing volunteer involvement.

  • Assist with local fundraising events.

  • Assist with match support throughout the state as requested.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors’ degree preferred or four years of equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. 

  • Reliable transportation and travel required. 

  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

  • Experience with Sales Force a plus. 

  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals and work instructions.

  • Proficiency in multiple technology platforms required for success in the job (Acuity, MatchForce, Microsoft Suite).

  • Experience with diverse populations in diverse settings; building lasting relationships.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; proven public speaker.

  • Assist in development of marketing materials and social media content to promote activities.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively, meeting all deadlines and goals.

  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team of individuals working toward common goals.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills; strong interpersonal relationship skills and commitment to quality customer service.

  • Ability to maintain privacy and security of confidential information.
